Replica Patton Sword
The cavalry saber, Model 1913, was the last saber issued to and used by the U.S. Cavalry. Designed by George Patton in 1913, (when he was still just a Lieutenant), this finely crafted sword was commonly attached to a troopers saddle. The tempered, high carbon steel blade was generally used as a thrusting weapon and was quite an innovation on the standard curved cavalry blade. Single fuller blade (a shallow central-groove or channel on a blade which lightens it as well as improves strength and flex) is 35" long and 1 1/8" wide at the ricasso,( the dull portion of a blade just above the hilt). The saber is 44" overall, weighs 2 lbs. 8 oz and includes a wood scabbard with steel mounts. Windlass Steelcrafts have outdone themselves this is better than the original.
